University of Malawi Staff Sports Association (UMSSA) has vowed to defend its coveted crown as last year’s overall winner with the 5th edition of the Public University Staff Sports Association of Malawi (PUSSAM) Inter-varsity games rolling into action on Saturday, 26th July, 2025 at the University of Malawi in Zomba.
Dr Dyson Moses, the Chairperson of UMSSA, says no stone is being left unturned in their quest to defend the crown as kings of PUSSAM Inter-varsity Games.
He said, “Our athletes have been training hard to maintain their title and uphold the pride of hosting the three-day competition”.
The games, which will be graced by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Malawi, Dr Sunduzwayo Madise, will bring together members of staff from all six public universities which are Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS), Malawi University of Science and Technology, Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS), Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) and Mzuzu University (MZUNI).
As hosts, UMSSA is rolling up its sleeves to win more gold medals once again in darts, pool, bawo, nguli, tug of war, volleyball, basketball, netball and football, among other games.
